Connect with the Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Community at the First Skin Cancer Champions Patient Advocacy Summit
July 31, 2026
Skin Cancer Champions is a community dedicated to connecting and supporting people affected by non-melanoma skin cancers, including patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocates. Through education, collaboration, and shared experiences, the organization helps patients stay informed about treatment advances, research, and available resources.
This fall, the organization will host its first-ever Patient Advocacy Summit, a free, one-day event that may be of particular interest to people living with Gorlin syndrome. The summit will feature presentations from leading physicians, researchers, and patient advocates focused on non-melanoma skin cancers, along with opportunities to learn, ask questions, and connect with others.
People with Gorlin syndrome have been invited to attend, and will be given our own table for lunch so that we may connect with others who share our experiences.
The GSA is especially excited that Dr. Andrea Rustad, pediatric dermatology fellow, Gorlin syndrome advocate, and author of the children's book I Am More Than My Spots, will be among the featured speakers. Dr. Rustad has been a valued member of our community and a thoughtful advocate for children and families living with Gorlin syndrome.
The Skin Cancer Champions Patient Advocacy Summit will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, and registration is free. If you're interested in learning more about non-melanoma skin cancers, connecting with others, or meeting Dr. Rustad, we encourage you to learn more and register.
We congratulate Skin Cancer Champions on launching its inaugural Patient Advocacy Summit and look forward to seeing this new event bring together the non-melanoma skin cancer community to share knowledge, build connections, and advance patient advocacy.
