The GSA–PeDRA Gorlin Syndrome Challenge Grant is a collaborative funding initiative between the Gorlin Syndrome Alliance (GSA) and the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA). This annual award supports innovative research focused on pediatric basal cell carcinoma in Gorlin syndrome, with the goal of improving prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for affected children and adolescents.
GSA and PeDRA welcome proposals spanning basic, translational, clinical, epidemiologic, and patient-centered research. Priority areas include understanding disease severity, improving surveillance and prevention strategies, developing more effective and less invasive treatments, reducing procedural burden, and advancing multidisciplinary models of care for children with Gorlin syndrome. Investigators are also encouraged to leverage GSA resources, including the GSA Natural History Study, where appropriate.
